Chapter 3: The Council of the Great

Part 2: Shadow of Revelations

The crowd rested on their seats and looked out towards the main stage in the center of the area where five people sat on the council podium. Everyone tuned into the stage with their claireverant visions and saw clearly the happenings of the council no matter how far away they sat.

"Residing on the Council of the Great are King Kaled, leader of Neo Atlantea and head of VioTech Corp; Queen Gloran, his beloved; Great Aenada, chief Scientist of VioTech; Great Rakim Menas, leader of VioTech Spiritual Health and Vas Resanam, the Chief Architect."
The Queen spoke with her clear voice: "Thank you all for coming, citizens of Atlantis. As with the traditions of the New and Restored Government of Aentesaria."
The Atlanteans cheered. Los clapped but she stopped and started to wonder why she was doing so. Queen? She didn't even know for sure whether this woman was such a thing.

"Under the guidance of the Guide himself, the Arcane and Divine Elonas Dimitri, who shewed us the way to our world of peace, knowledge and science, we withhold the great tradition that governs our world. The uni-voice. For when sudden and great events occur, so we need the decisions of our people to seal the fate."

"What is the issue at hand?" The Chief Speaker said as he stood outside of the stage in front of a great device that instantly registered the voices of everyone within a 5 kilometer radius of the area.
The Queen: "The rumors are true, we have a stranger in our midst, who claims he is from a place called, Urth. Which in our records show that it is the likely Neo-world. The world that Atlantis was ripped from."

The people mumbled.

The speaker's eyes shifted into space for a moment then he gained focus again: "The voice asks, does he pose a danger to us. We experience a strange feeling of discomfort with the disturbance of our balance."
The Queen nodded: "Which is why we urgently convened. No, he doesn't pose a danger to us because he is in confinement and will remain so until we are assured of the self-restraint of his brain's chemical levels."
The speaker's eyes shifted again then spoke: "We wish to see this outsider, if it be safe."
The Chief scientist whispered something into The King's ears and the King pressed a button on the podium.
A gate opened and two armed guards walked in with a man. His shirt was drenched with sweat and he looked deathly ill; his brain-drain was far too painful for his mind and body.
The people gasped, the voice machine went off the scale with all the comments. "Oh how hideous." Some said. "Is he really from Urth?" Another said. The Chief Speaker muted the machine for a moment to sustain his own sanity.

"Silence!" The King ordered.

The man's eyes were bloodshot. He was sweating and looked as if he had been in a rough mental fight. A guard whispered something into the King's ears. The King sighed.
"Here he is." The King said. "And I have just been informed, that this man was telling the truth and he was not imagining it either. We have a recording of Infofilm of the events in his mind, claireverated with my orders."
The Infofilm materialized in the air and everyone looked up towards it.
Images quickly brushed through the screen then started to slow down.
And the Atlanteans watched the life story of an Eartherner, through his own eyes.

Los watched, she shook her head, seeing the horrors and the wars and the destruction then wondered to herself why her world wasn't as barbaric, just as she thought that, an image flashed in her mind.... The image of a strange person, his skin was almost greenish and had a veiny, bald head, he looked at her with strange eyes that dilated, and then a strange glow from within those gripping eyes told her to come, and give him the right to delve into the depths of her mind, suddenly there was a cry, and she screamed: "NO! BROTHER!" She saw a man, wearing a crown, he tried to strangle the strange green person, but someone from behind....
It was Malek! He raised a plasma sword and struck her "brother" down.... "NO!!!!" Los screamed. The people around her turned to her. Her mother held her in her arms: "Los! My darling! What's the matter? Are these pictures taking a toll on you?" Los turned around and tried to breathe in.... "No, no.. Mother.. I'm ok." "You need to go out in the open." A voice inside her head said. Los nodded: "I think I'm just constricted for air.... I need to go out in the open...."
Her mother nodded: "Alright, darling."

Los walked away, obviously distraught... She stood by the gate and thought to herself: "What is wrong with me..... Why am I getting these images? Could it be that my longing for a brother has created these traumatic images of an imaginary brother??" Suddenly, she gasped as she noticed someone standing at the edge of the crowd, she looked at his skin.... It was peeling! She used her clairvoyance to magnify her view and noticed that... Beneath his white screen... It was... Green.... "YOU!" Los shouted. The man turned around at Los then turned at the guard standing by the gate entrance. The guard stirred and grabbed the handle of his plasma sword. "Blessed, blessed life..." The strange man said.
"...Why mock me?" he said, finishing his strangely sarcastic message. The guard stepped forward "Is there anything wrong?". Los looked at the guard... She didn't know what to say. Should she tell him that he's an imposter? Or should she say that there was nothing wrong so that she can confront the man herself and ask about her images.... "You're ok, this stranger is a friend." a voice inside her head said. She turned to the guard and said: "No, there's nothing wrong, it's just an old friend." The guard nodded: "Try to keep it down, the People are concentrating."

The stranger walked towards her. Los stuttered. The man broke the silence: "We need to go somewhere where we can talk", needless to say, Los agreed.

They walked towards a cliff on the edge of the island. Unkowingly, it was the same cliff top that her ancestress and husband-to-be shared their most precious and most devastating moments together. Los: "I don't want to be here...." She shivered, the cold breeze tickled her to the bone. "We never thought that it would go this far... In fact, we didn't know what we were doing." Los: "By you, you mean, your people? Your kind?". "Yes." a voice inside her head said. Los's eyes widened: "YOU! You were controlling my mind!!!" The man shook his head: "No, we don't have the power to control people against their will, no one can. You merely responded to my... Suggestions, after I made you feel a high level of trust towards my voice. It's called Silent Hypnosis.... Telepathy. You still have all the power to refuse my suggestions; willpower is still a powerful thing."
Los looked at the ground, trying to remember old events: "Wait.... Telepathy research was banned.... Decades ago!" The man peeled his pale skin. Los stepped back as she saw the same features she had seen in the man in her vision. "Oh my God. You are a Genodem..." The green man nodded with a sad look on his face: "Or Gene Demons like we prefer to call ourselves."
"So my vision was true. I DO have a brother?! Is he alive? I saw him being struck down...." "Los... You obviously want answers to your cascading questions. But it will be wrong to carry on and leave you dying of an unending thirst... So I want you to SEE it for yourself."
"See what?" Los said. "Past the veil that has been shrouded on your eyes and the eyes of everyone else here. The veil that our race is responsible for casting. But you will have to trust me, fully.. And I'm not going to coerce you into doing it using my powers... I want you to take the leap yourself." He said the last sentence while pointing towards the ocean.

"Wh... You want me to jump off the cliff? If I die, how will my questions be answered?" Los said.
"You will not die, I promise you that, with all that I hold dear, and may Raziel, the great cherisher of the secrets of the universe, strike me down if I cause you any harm." The Genodem said.
"I will. If you tell me your name, and the name of my brother." Los said.
"My name is Gor. Your brother's name is Anders. We call him Emirelbehr, the Prince of the Waters." Gor said.
"Anders..." Los whispered to herself with a smile. She stepped towards the cliff and extended her arms in the air. "It's a more beautiful name than I imagined."

"May the Guide be with you." Gor said as Los jumped.

She tried to keep her eyes closed but the sheer acceleration made it too enticing to see how it looks like to fall to the water from hundreds of feet in the air. She opened her eyes, but she wished that she hadn't; the water in front of her turned into a greenish scaly creature's mouth as it opened wide and from within its mouth, another mouth opened, shrouded with prickly teeth like she had never ever seen. She screamed, but it was too late, she fell into the beast's mouth.
